3. Nebuchadnezzar built a golden image that was sixty cubits in height. All Babylonian leaders gathered to dedicate the image, and the king ordered that everyone worship the statute or be thrown into the fiery furnace. Daniel’s companions, Meshak, Shadrach, and Abed-Nego, calmly refuse and are thrown into the fierce furnace. Miraculously, they were saved by God and sang songs while walking in the fire. Nebuchadnezzar was amazed by the power of the Hebrew God and ordered that nothing evil should be said against the Hebrew God.
