1. Nebuchadnezzar defeats Jerusalem and tales the best, healthiest, and brightest young men to Babylon. There, Daniel, Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael are groomed for civil service and given Babylonian names. Daniel alienates himself from the king’s indulgence and survives on water and vegetable. He grew healthier and is promoted together with his companions as he has a gift of understanding dreams and visions.
