Manasseh became king at the age of twelve. He worships false gods, builds altars and idols in the temple, and practices the occult. Manasseh is captured in Babylon and humbles himself before God, and is restored to Jerusalem. Upon his return, Manasseh bans idolatrous practices and dies after fifty-five years. Ammon becomes king and does evil. He rules for two years and is killed by his servants, and Josiah replaces him.
