Elisha summons a prophet’s son to anoint Jehu, Jehoshaphat's son, as king of Israel. The Lord plans to use Jehu as a vessel of judgment against Ahab’s house. Jehu visits Israel and kills Joram, and his body is dumped in Naboth’s vineyard. Ahaziah, the wicked king of Judah, is also killed and defenestrates Jezebel, whose body is eaten by dogs. This fulfills the previous prophecy.
