The Shunammite woman who had been restored to life by Elisha earlier is advised to leave Israel for Seven years following a famine. When she returns, Gehazi helps her reclaim her own land after hearing all the deeds Elisha had done. Ben-Hadad falls ill and requests Elisha’s advice if he recovers. Elisha informs Hazel that he’ll become the next king, and he proceeds to kill Ban-Hadad. Jehoram follows Jehoshaphat as the next king of Judah and does evil. Joram dies and is replaced by Ajaziah, who rules for a year.
