Ahijah told Jeroboam’s wife that the Lord would sweep away Jeroboam’s house. Abijah became sick, and Ahijah the prophet spoke out against Jeroboam. Shortly, the son dies, and in the long run, Jeroboam’s whole household would be destroyed, and the northern kingdom would be scattered. Jeroboam dies, and his son Nadab takes over. Judah sins with false worship and high places, Egypt takes its wealth, and Rehoboam dies and is replaced by Abijam.
