A man of God cries out to God against Jeroboam’s altar and prophesies of its destruction. The altar splits into two, and when Jeroboam tries to have him arrested, his hand withers. The man of God prays for him, and his hand is restored. The man of God eats at an old prophet’s home and is killed by a lion. He is buried in Bethel, with the old prophet requesting to be buried alongside him.
