Ruth gleans barley in Bethlehem from the field of Boaz until the harvest ends. Boaz is Elimelech's relative, and hearing of her loyalty to Naomi, he shows kindness to Ruth. He insists that she gleans from his field alone, allowing her to glean from sheaves that have already been gathered. Ruth shares her gleanings with Naomi.
