Israelites should not fear when they go to war as the Lord will always be with them. They should offer terms before attacking a city, except to the cities of the land. All males should be killed in an attack, and the women, children, and other spoils can be plundered freely. Canaanites should be destroyed, and trees bearing fruits should not be cut down.
