The Israelites move into the Zin wilderness, where Miriam dies. When Israelites complain of thirst, God instructs them to strike a rock, and water springs out. Moses attributed the miracle to his powers, and God punished him by telling him he won't enter the Promised Land. The Edomites refuse passage to the Israelites, and they move to Mt. Hor, where Aaron dies.
