Chapter five describes the generations of Adam, from Seth to Noah. Adam lived to 930 years. Notably, Enoch is distinguished in the chapter for having walked with God where he was personally taken by God when he died. His son Methuselah lived for 969 years. Lamech had a son called Noah when he was 182 years old. Noah, in turn, bore three sons, namely; Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The chapter describes how people continued to multiply, daughters were born, and men took them as wives. God limited their years, and there were also Nephilim who lived on the earth and married human women who bore children and became famous warriors and heroes.
