Chapter 4 covers the whole story of Cain and his brother Abel- sons of Adam and Eve. After God expelled them from the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve conceived their first son Cain, and later a second son Abel. Cain tilled the earth while Abel kept sheep. They would bring offerings to the Lord of firstborn and fruit. It was clear that God respected Abel's gifts more, which annoyed Cain and made him jealous to the extent of killing his brother Abel. This angered God, who cursed Cain and marked him so that he couldn't be killed. Cain bore a son named Enoch, who found a city and named it after himself. Generations of Cain are described, and Adam and Eve bore another son- Seth, who replaced Abel. Adam was 130 years by then.
